Our vision

Our historic building is in serious need of repairs, and large portions of the space are currently unusable. Our vision is to rehabilitate the center, improve energy efficiency and air-ventilation, and fully utilize the 5,000 sq ft building in order to launch various essential facilities.

Through a full building restoration, we could preserve the Center for future generations and allow it to reach it’s full potential as a cornerstone of our community.

Planned Facility Expansions

  • Indigenous Ethnic Studies Library
  • S.T.E.A.M. Computer Lab
  • Art Studios & Art Store
  • Screen Printing Workshop
  • Wellness Gym
  • Homework & Co-working Cafe
  • Outdoor Garden & Art Classroom

We need your help to make this vision a reality.

ARPA Grant Update – how it works

On September 12th, County Supervisor Phil Serna and the County of Sacramento awarded the Washington Neighborhood Center a staggering $1.8 million! The ARPA grant is a cost reimbursement grant, which means that we need to raise and spend the amount first before accessing the grant monies.

Become a sponsor

Help us preserve the Washington Neighborhood Center for future generations by becoming a sponsor. Your generous donations are tax-deductible as we are a registered 501(c)(3) organization. Make a difference, and enjoy the benefits of contributing to this community initiative.

It’s a transformative moment for the Center, but we need you to make it happen!

We are now hiring architect and construction manager roles.

Visit the Contractor Portal to learn more about the project scope and submit an application.
